Turmeric for Inflammation
Turmeric has made the front page lately because of it's ant-inflammatory properties. On top of that it has many impressive qualities that have made it popular in many cuisines as well as medicine cabinets.
TURMERICS ABILITIES
Helps with jaundice, liver and gallbladder disorders by increasing bile production, improving the flow of bile, and preventing gallstone formation.
It is anti-inflammatory as stated above, antibacterial, an antioxidant, and is powerful against cancer. For some reason many herbs that are brightly covered and stain the skin seem to have an incredibly strong power against cancer. Turmeric is known to inhibit lymphoma cells.
Turmeric is an anticoagulant. It slows blood clotting and is good for people who have problems with blood clotting.
It is a digestive aid as it helps with gas and bloating. It also inhibits the intestinal yeast overgrowth such as candida.
On top of it all, it is immune boosting!
WHAT TO BE CAREFUL OF
Turmeric is warming and drying so if taken in larger quantities, it needs to be combined with something that is moisture enhancing such as marshmallow (no not the tasty treat, although those are delicious too!).
USES
You can make golden milk which is also becoming increasingly popular. You could also make a paste for skin infections as I mentioned it's antibacterial. It will stain the skin temporarily but it will fade shortly. Or, if you are feeling adventurous, you can make your own curry! Curry is wonderful, complex and delicious! :)
I hope this helps you better understand the joys of turmeric and feel more confident in using it!
Blessings!
